The Visionary Program
An initiative by IIFW – (Indian Independent Filmmakers Worldwide) and the ICG-(International Centre ,Goa). IIFW, global organization of Indian Independent Filmmakers of Indian origin, to promote, support and nurture the independent cinema movement conducted a two day seminar/workshop on the subject –The Future of Cinema in a multimedia, globalized world. Was held on the 20th and 21st of March at the International Centre, Goa. This was the first of a series of four such events over the year planned at ICG.To deciphering and discussing ,analyzing and understanding and to cultivate the culture of Indian Cinema in India. And to emerging patterns in the global media. The two day workshop discussed the crisis of scriptwriting in contemporary cinema and the challenges of International collaborations and Co productions. The participants included- well known film producer/director- Ketan Mehta, well known Actor ,scriptwriter, producer- Deepa Sahi, Bhuvan Lall – Film Journalist and Producer, Vipin Sharma – Actor and Scriptwriter, Agnes Fernandes – Hungarian Scriptwriter and Filmmaker, Eric Edmeades CEO Kerner Optical(formerly known as ILM) , Jessica Dhillon- Kerner Opticals and Staré Yildirim, a Producer and Filmmaker from Turkey. On the 20th March evening the screening of the International Version of Ketan Mehta’s Latest Film titled ‘Rang Rasiya’ was held in ESG, Goa which was followed by a Q & A session with the filmmaker. The event was well attended and was inaugurated by PRATAP SINGH RANE former CM and the current speaker of the Legislative Assembly in Goa.
