IIFW Actor’s Workshop

After garnering tremendous response, Vipin Sharma, a seasoned actor and IIFW member is back to conduct a 3rd Actors’ workshop based on the popular Meisner technique.

The IIFW Actors’ Workshop- Meisner technique

The monthly IIFW Acting Workshop aims to benefit not only actors but directors, writers or anyone who is interested in understanding how to create a credible character.

The interactive workshop will lend an insight into a performer’s mind through various exercises. By deconstructing the different methods one will try and understand the role of an actor vis-à-vis the character he or she is playing.

Using the infamous Repetition exercise Vipin will demonstrate the vision of one of the most insightful acting teachers in the world Sanford Meisner who trained many of the legendary actors in North American and Europe. This is a great opportunity to get a taste of his teachings for the first time in Bombay. Here is a link to Meisner.

Moderator: Vipin Sharma

Vipin is a graduate of the National School of Drama, New Delhi. He moved to Toronto, Canada in 1989. After having quit acting for almost more than a decade his desire to come back to it took him to Jacqueline McClintock who is an acting coach and the only Meisner expert in Canada. The impact of her classes was so strong that Vipin decided to return to India. His first film Taare Zameen Par has earned him two nominations for the Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Screen Awards and Cineblitz. Followed by Jannat and soon to be released Rang Rasiya directed by Ketan Mehta, Vipin is currently working in Lamhaa directed by Rahul Dholakia and Paan Singh Tomar directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia.
